Captain

Well believe it or not, our special boy Captain is ready for a new home.  His home must be mellow and quiet, no extended periods of roughhousing.  His compromised airway wont allow it.  He is very sweet and very sensitive.  His feelings get hurt very easily.

We do NOT care how long it takes to find this boy the perfect home . Captain WILL NOT go out of the state of Washington.  Your home & car MUST be air conditioned, no exceptions.  No dog parks or walks.  He loves to go in the car but cannot walk any distance.  Must have a wagon to pull him around in after about 25 or 30 feet.

Captain had another surgery to remove more stuff. Dr Heather at Carousel Vet used a laser on him and removed more palate, 2 HUGE tonsils, 1 laryngeal saccule and some chondroids from his larnyx.  It has been 3 weeks since his surgery and he continues to make great strides.  He can run short bursts now and plays with some of the other dogs.  I am really interested to see how he does when it gets hot this summer.

12-30-2011 Captain now weighs a great weight of 40#'s.  He is eating really well and does a funny dance when its time to eat.  He can play with another dog on the bed or with toys.  He CANNOT nor will he ever be able to run and play with other dogs, or go to a dog park.  If he goes any distance he will need to be in a cart and be pulled or pushed to be a part of any adventure.  We still dont know how he will be in the heat during the summertime.

He is still not housebroken but is getting better.  its funny tho, when no one is home he always goes outside, but when we are there he will use the washable wee wee pads faithfully.

His new home will still have to be someone with bulldog knowledge, a nurse or doctor or someone familiar with bulldogs with compromised breathing issues.

He is easily bullied by other dogs and wont fight if his life depended on it.  He is a total love sponge and enjoys nothing more than lying on the couch with his person and sleeping or chewing on a toy.

12-2-11 He is playing a little bit, his stamina appears to be building.  He does better when he can mouth wrestle on the bed with another dog rather than running with them.  He still gets winded very easily and will sit with his head in the air to help him breath easier. He is just so full of love and gratitude.  His cherry eye surgery is 12-6-11.

11-15-11 His surgery was done on the 4th of Nov, he no longer turns blue when he walks across the floor BUT he will never breath like the other bulldogs because he has hypoplastic trachea and has a smal rolling bend in it.  He can run about 10 to 15 ft and has to stop and hold up his head to breath better, typical of hypoplastic trachea.  His ideal home would be with folks with bulldog experience, quiet mellow folks, no chaos.  Air conditioned home would be a plus, we dont know how the heat will affect him yet.

While he loves<
